Jack Mayer

Jack Mayer is a Vermont pediatrician and writer. In addition to Life in a Jar: The Irena Sendler Project, he has written a work of historical fiction, Before the Court of Heaven, inspired by the history of how Germany’s Weimar democracy became the Third Reich—a cautionary tale. He is on the VHC Speakers Bureau and speaks about both books and the history that inspired each. He donates 60 percent of his author royalties to the Irena Sendler/Life in a Jar Foundation in Kansas, where Norm Conard and Megan Stewart- Felt continue to work with students around the world on projects about unsung heroes. They continue to perform the play in the U.S., Canada, and Poland.
