Voices of the Ancients will expand the length and breadth of American history through archaeological inquiry and content, culturally significant places, and oral histories. The Fremont people who thrived in Utah for more than 1200 years provide an excellent example of efficient adaptation to desert environments, the development of complex communities, and communication through magnificent rock art. Their cultural landmarks are readily accessible and provide a glimpse into their lives. Descendants of the Fremont people are still part of the rich tapestry of contemporary American culture, and they provide life-changing perspectives about the land and people in the American West.
