"Virtual Gateway to Himalayan Art and Cultures" is an intensive virtual program to introduce 35 higher education faculty to Himalayan art that connect with East Asian, South and Inner-Asian cultures and humanities subjects of study. A workshop-style six-day training (June 16 - July 2, 2025) with Rubin Museum staff and invited lead scholars includes presentations and facilitated study-discussions focused on a specific theme using cross-disciplinary approaches employing Project Himalayan Art digital platform and assigned materials. Guided collaborative group sessions produce sample syllabi and student engagement units and tackle topics of cultural sensitivity to sacred images and cultural appropriation in the present-day.
