This institute draws from the traditions of documentary theater and Literacy Unbound practices to transform reading and writing into immersive, hands-on experiences with cli-fi texts. Framed through Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower and Lewis Hyde's A Primer For Forgetting, the project aims to shift beliefs about what is possible, fostering the vision to reimagine our collective futures. To reach a wider audience, we will film parts of the institute to demonstrate the process and tell the story of our forays into telling the Future Earth Story. Join scholars in literature, participatory reading, media studies, and sociology.
