The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) has announced a federal grant of nearly $350,000, part of which will be used to construct an expansion which will hold some of the museum’s “ever-expanding collection.”
According to the museum, its foundation received a Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant of nearly $350,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
This money will go towards an effort to catalog, photograph, store and increase access to a recently-gifted collection of more than 7,600 works on paper from Frank Raysor, an art collector from Richmond who passed away in 2022.
