The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) has launched a program aimed at supporting veterans as they navigate the often-difficult transition from military to civilian life. Funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the program, “Dialogues on the Experience of War,” is only the second initiative in UTPB’s history to receive a grant from this prestigious organization.

This unique program trains discussion leaders to create a welcoming space where veterans can openly share their stories, reflecting on their time in service and their efforts to reintegrate into family and community life. The ultimate goal is to help veterans bridge the gap between their military experiences and civilian life while fostering understanding within their communities.
