In Tribal Justice, two Native American judges look to traditional concepts of justice to reduce incarceration rates, foster greater safety within their communities, and create a more positive future for youth. By addressing the root causes of crime, the judges are modeling restorative systems that work, and mainstream courts across the country are beginning to take notice. Journalist Simon Moya-Smith (Oglala Lakota and Chicano) will moderate the discussion between director Anne Makepeace and Judge Claudette White (Quechan) following the screening.
