Folger Shakespeare Library's Teaching Shakespeare Institute - Shakespeare: Othello and The Taming of the Shrew in Conversation will focus on two plays that shape the gender and racial paradigms of the present as well as the Shakespearean past. By studying them together, we aim to explore why the fates of their principal characters have proved so resonant to four centuries of readers and playgoers, and to teachers and students as well.
