We are hosting a three week hybrid institute, "Japanese American Post-War Resettlement in Chicago, 1943 - 1950." Employing community-engaged and place-based pedagogies, the institute will host 30 educators from across the U.S. and will be conducted in a hybrid format, both virtually and in-person. Participants will gather in Chicago in July 2024 and will go on field trips, visit archives and special collections of resettlement archives, tour historic resettlement neighborhoods, and conduct interviews with Japanese American elders who actually lived this history.
